GIS Insert Overview
In today’s video, we provided an overview of the GIS insert functionality within Spatial Engineer 11, demonstrating the basics of inserting features into the database. The tutorial began by showcasing a basic network setup, featuring a central office with an existing yet uninserted cable, and introduced an advanced DLC and cross-connect that are part of an active work order, to be covered in the next segment on pre-posting. Key steps included accessing the GIS insert menu, identifying non-database features through a magenta highlight, and using the GIS insert dialogue to add desired features, such as copper cables, into the database. The video highlighted the intuitive nature of the process, noting that successfully inserted features change to their standard colors while new features requiring pre-posting remain magenta. Future content will delve into pre-posting procedures for new features.
